SOJOURNER TRUTH EDUCATION TOUR TO BATTLE CREEK, MI

Sojourner Truth is NANBPWC’s National icon. Join us for an exciting pre-convention cultural enrichment tour to Battle Creek, Michigan to celebrate the life of Sojourner Truth. We will see the statue created by Tina Allen, the creator of our Striding Sojourner Truth Pin and visit other artwork and sites depicting Battle Creek’s important role on the Underground Railroad. A memorial service at Sojourner Truth’s grave site is also planned. Lunch is included.

            Date:      Monday, July 28, 2008

            Time:      8 am – 5:30 pm [Bus departs Marriott Hotel promptly at 8:15 am.]

AIRPORT GROUND TRANSPORTATION

Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport [DTW] is approximately 21 miles (25–30 minutes driving time) from the Marriott Detroit at the Renaissance Center Hotel. Samples of ground transportation available from the airport to downtown are: Checker Sedan www.checkersedan.com; 800-351-5466 is $50 one way; Metro Airport Taxi www.metroairporttaxi.org; 800-745-5191 is $41 one way.

Airline Arrival And Departure Times – Coming And Going:

The Registration Form asks for arrival and departure times. We are trying to contract for reduced ground transportation rates for peak arrival and departure times.   This requires us to provide arrival and departure information. If you are flying, please include this information on your registration form. If we are successful, you will be contacted regarding arrangements. If you are arriving by charter bus, one person from the club should notify Antoinette Robinson, National Meeting Planner to facilitate the hotel having sufficient staff for a large group, especially if arrival will be at an off-peak time and for information on bus parking availability.

The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc. is now accepting ads for the 2008 Convention Program Journal.

To place a NANBPWC Club, business or individual ad, simply complete the PROGRAM JOURNAL AD FORM and submit it with your ad and payment by June 15, 2008 to the address indicated on the form. Please note no ad will be printed without payment.

The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc. extends an invitation to you to be a vendor, exhibitor and/or Business Fair participant at the 73rd National Convention. As a participant you will have the opportunity to market your business to hundreds of NANBPWC members and the community.  

 

VENDORS

Do you have merchandise you would like to offer for sale to our members and the public? Become a 2008 Convention Vendor.   Vendor space is limited and we encourage you to return the Vendor Agreement and your payment early. Space assignment is on a first-come first assigned basis. NANBPWC, Inc. assumes no responsibility for vendor revenue generation.

Only vendors with a current Logo License Agreement are permitted to sell merchandise with The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Incorporated logo, name, acronym or mark. If you are interested in obtaining a license please request an application by sending an e-mail to: ResourceDevelopment@nanbpwc.org. Applications for a Trademark Agreement must be received by June 1.
